Etta Marie Anderson Johnson – Obituary

 Mother Etta Marie Anderson Johnson was born February 14, 1954, and departed this life on April 20, 2019, in Sulligent, AL.

Etta accepted Christ at as a young adult where she continued to share her faith and love of God with everyone she met.  To know her was to instantly love her. She worked hard in her church, Revival Center Church of God in Christ, until her health prevented her from doing what she loved to do. She served as a trustee board member, pastor’s aid president, and church mother.

Etta was educated in the Lauderdale County School System. From there, she became an Assistant Store Manager for Parisian, now known as Belk, for over 30 years up until her health declined and she retired.   Those who knew Etta remember her for her infectious smile, her pure heart, and her love for everyone she met.  She had a great passion for fashion, gardening, fishing, and spending quality time with family.

And just before the story ended, she found love again in a long-time friend.  This friendship turned into a beautiful union to Superintendent Murry Johnson of Sulligent, Alabama.  He vowed to love and cherish her always, and she adored him.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Edna Ragland, a sister, Patricia Coleman, and a husband, Superintendent Larry Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and supportive husband, Superintendent Murry Johnson; five daughters: Vanesha (Eld. Patrick) Mason, Angela (O’Dell) Graves, Terri Johnson, April Winston, and Angela (Freddy) Haley; a son: Timothy Anderson; eleven grandchildren: Jada, Isaac, Nathan, Asia, Shantel, Carter, Irelan, Nicholas, Brandon, Kyle, and Patrick; two sisters: Gertrude (Bishop Ricky) White and Linda (Raymond) Henry; a brother James (Cynthia) Ragland; and a host of family and friends, including several nieces and nephews, and all with whom she shared a special bond.
