Mrs. Lillian Rose Smith, age 99 of Arab passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Diversicare of Arab.
Mrs. Smith was born on October 12, 1919 in Marshall County to William H. McElroy & Dora Ann Tidmore McElroy. She was married to the late Elton Smith who passed on October 29, 1998. She enjoyed writing poetry, quilting, singing, cooking, gardening and tending to flowers & word search puzzles.
She was the oldest living member at Eddy Baptist Church. She became a charter member in 1952.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Dean Norris; sons & daughters-in-law, Don Smith & Rhonda, Jerry Smith & Gail, Wendell Smith & Kathy; sister, Irene Harper; grandchildren, Sharon Morgan & Tim, Rodney Smith & Samantha, Sherry King, Ricky Smith & April, Lori Kelso & Justin, Jason Smith, Nathan Smith; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great- great granddaughter. Preceded in death by her parents, William H. McElroy & Dora Ann Tidmore McElroy; husband, Elton Smith; sisters, Gladys Smith, Lavonia Thrasher, Elner Webb, Mildred Hale; brothers, Quinton McElroy, William H. McElroy, Jr., Clifford McElroy.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Eddy Baptist Church with Bro. Jacob Moody, officiating. Burial will be in Eddy Baptist Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Smith, Ricky Smith, Jason Smith, Nathan Smith, Tim Morgan & Justin Kelso.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
