F.4.21.19 Lewis Evans.jpgLewis Randall Evans, 72, of Sheffield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, April 20, 2019. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at King Cemetery in Wolf Springs.

Captain was retired from Sheffield Police Department after 27 years of service. Randy and his wife owned Jan’s Market in Sheffield for over 25 years. Many of the kids who came to the shop at Jan’s store would call him Mr. Jan’s and they loved Randy dearly. Randy loved to fish and was good at it with walls of pictures of his large and small mouth bass. You could find him any day at the Sheffield Riverfront fishing. He was also an avid golfer. He golfed for years with his best friend, State Trooper Kenny Lee until Kenny’s death. Anyone who knew him loved him. He would tell all of his friends that he married the best cook in Sheffield.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, 11 months, and 25 days, Jan Moland Evans. Jan was the love of his life; daughter, Jennifer Kay Evans of Huntsville; stepsons, Jan’s sons, Franky Hatton and wife Sharon of Russellville, Dr. James Edward Matthew and wife, Ann of Nashville, and Richard “Peewee” Davis and wife, Trista of Leighton, AL; grandchildren, Heather Hatton Kennamore (Josh), Haley Hatton, and Heath Hatton (Sara), all of Russellville, Anna and Alana Burrows of Nashville, Tristain, E.J., Mayliah, and Abby Davis, all of Leighton; great-grandsons, Ridge Paul Kennamore and Sammy Gene Hatton, both of Russelville; great-nephew, Douglas Laster of Sheffield; sister-in-law, Shirley Evans of Muscle Shoals; one brother, three sisters, and too many friends to mention.

The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Joseph Brasco, CNP Christy, Kindred Hospice, RN Jamie Lane, RN Ashley Froster, RN Joloyce O’Malley, RN Rosa, Home Health Holley, Social Worker Kay Holt, RN Norma, SPC Overseer Margaret, and Walmart Pharmacy Deb Faulkner.

“Randy spread your wings. Angels open your gates of Heaven, Captain Randy Evans is coming home. I will always love you.” Jan.
