Josephine Dowdy Durham, 70, of Florence, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at her residence after an extended battle with cancer. She was a longtime member of Chisholm Hills Church of Christ where she taught the 2 and 3 year old class, cleaned with her husband, Buford, for almost 15 years. She worked in the nursery at IBC for many years, and served as a missionary in Canada with her friend, Prue Mitchell. She loved babysitting her grandbabies and other children as well. She loved listening to the radio stations, FIX 91.3 and WBTG. She enrolled all her family and friends in the birthday and anniversary program; and many of them won. She thought that Mark and Michelle were two of the best people on that station.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Chisholm Hills Church of Christ with Ty Rhymes and Sonny Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Winnie Dowdy; brothers, William Dowdy, and Earl Dowdy, Jr.; infant sister; and infant grandson.
