Sanford B. Blackwell – Obituary

Sanford B. Blackwell, 91 of Sumiton, passed away Wednesday April 17, 2019. He was a member of Empire Assembly of God; a retried UMWA member of Local 1288 over 40 years. He loved traveling with his wife.
Funeral services will be Saturday April 20, 2019 at 12:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Don Westbrook will officiate. Burial will follow in Dilworth Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 10am until service time.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Earline Blackwell; his mother and father; his sister, Viola Whitley and his brother, Melvin Blackwell.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra May (Harry), and Wanda Grissom (Rick); five grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister in law, Bobbie Lambert; special great granddaughter, Kynlee Rose; his little buddy, Carter Mason, two special nieces and caregivers, Hilda McAdams and Betty Tolbert and special caregiver Gay Hunt as well as several other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation to Comfort Care Hospice for the exceptional treatment and kindness provided during Mr. Blackwell’s illness.
