 Jim Boggan of Selmer, TennesseeJim Boggan was born March 23, 1936 in Bath Springs, TN the son of the late Newton Jehu and Hazel Mildred Akin Boggan. He graduated from Selmer High School in 1954 and attended UT Martin.

He was united in marriage to Dorine Coln on August 28, 1966.

Mr. Boggan was a pulp mill foreman for PCA in Counce, Tennessee for 46 years. He enjoyed golf, reading, and fishing. He was affectionately known to his family as “Pop” and with this title came great joy of watching his grandkids do what they love. He was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church in the Eastview Community.

Mr. Boggan departed this life on April 18, 2019 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 83 Years, 26 Days. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorine Boggan of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Carol Reynolds and husband David of Huntsville, AL, Janet Pierce and husband Larry of Selmer, TN; a son, David Boggan and wife Cristy of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren, Sam and Audrey Pierce, Sarah Grace Reynolds, Keaton and Weston Boggan; brothers-in-law, Donald Coln and wife Gloria, Jeff Coln and wife Tena; sisters-in-law, Sue Coln, Polly Richards and husband Bob; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boggan was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis (Boggan) Hamilton; brother-in-law, Russell Coln.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
