Pok Sun Welcher – Obituary

Pok Sun Welcher of Cumming, GA passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by her devoted husband James Judson Welcher; her daughter Sonie Alexandre (Kevin) of Harvest, AL; her son in law Craig Usrey of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren Nicholas Alexandre, Jacob Alexandre, Priscilla Daniels (Damon) and Travis Usrey; great grandchildren Braxton, Briar, Damien and Talia. She is also survived by her siblings Bong Sik Kim, Nam Su Kim and Hung Su Kim all of California and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Sam Yong Kim and Wou Yong Cho of Incheon, Korea; her sister Bong Sun Kim; and her daughter Susan Ann Usrey of Lawrenceburg, TN.

Pok was born in Incheon, Korea September 17, 1942 and migrated to this country in 1965. Despite only having a junior high education, she became a consummate professional at Rockwell International and The Boeing Company as an electronics technician. Her retirement was spent enjoying her family and friends, shopping, gardening and taking care of her beloved husband, Jim. She was a beautiful, classy, special lady and a treasure to all who knew her. She will be missed tremendously.

The family would like to thank Northside Hospital in Cumming, GA for their outstanding care and compassion and a multitude of family members and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
