Joyce Hayes Hale, of Florence, passed Tuesday, April 16, 2019 after an extended fight with Alzheimer’s.  She attended and graduated from Coffee High School.  Her interest in education and passion for learning resulted in her founding Little Angel Daycare in 1961 located in Florence, Alabama. It was the first daycare and kindergarten in this area to be licensed by the State of Alabama.  Her love for Christ and His Church was a cornerstone of her life.  She was a member of Chisholm Hills Church of Christ.  She loved her family, cherished the time she had with them, and always put family first.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, April 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at Chisholm Hills Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hale; parents, Fred and Pauline Hayes; brother, Larry J. Hayes and brother-in-law, Larry J. Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Joycelyn Hale and her husband, Kevin Jangaard (Florence); grandson, William Hale Jangaard  and wife, Rebecca Anne Jangaard (Florence); sisters, Theresa Young and Martha Morris and her husband, Howard and, sister-in-law, Janice Hayes.  She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews that she adored.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the wonderful ladies who helped care for her: Teresa Butler, Donna Givens, Charma “Sue” Jackson, Aretha King, Tonya Russell, and Mary Wood.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Community Care Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care they provided.
