Katie Elizabeth Black, age 95 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Black was born November 29, 1923 in Limestone County to John H. Tribble and Mable Claire Carey Tribble.

Funeral services for Mrs. Black will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. with Bro. Guy McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 1:00 until 3:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Black; son, Bobby Ray Black; grandson, Bradley Neal Waddell.

She is survived by her daughters, Anna Gayle Kirby, Linda Gray and Donna Larson (Greg); sister, Jeanette Warren; grandchildren, Terry Black, Tammy Whaley, Theresa Bevil, Anthony Black, Candy Carr, Gerald Kirby, Monica Kilby, Kevin Waddell, Courtney Gray, Ginger McGough and Bethany Smith; great grandchildren, Spencer Waddell, Madison Kilby, Brendon Kirby, Jenson Nicholson, Kensley Kirby, Judd Black, Zeke Black, Ryan Bevil, Christen Castlebury, Jordon Castlebury, Meredith Boyd, Ethan McGough, Baily McGough and Jeffrey Carr.

She was a member of O’neal Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Waddell, Courtney Gray, Gerald Kirby, Anthony Black, Hollis Legg and Von Warren. Honorary pallbearer is Terry Black.
