Ruby Jean McCurry Pratt, age 84 of Athens, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019. Mrs. Pratt was born July 14, 1934 in Limestone County to Raymond McCurry and Mattie Penley McCurry.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pratt will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Pat Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Pratt; daughter, Sherry Pratt Gentle; brother, R.L. McCurry, Jr.; sister, Madge M. Black.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Pratt Cheek and Linda Davis (Eddie); grandchildren, Jason Batts, Brandon Batts, Taylor Stewart (Matt), Lindsay Looney and Leanne Gentle Heath; step grandchildren, Chase Davis, Mike Davis, Hope Davis and Grace Davis; great grandchildren, Mollie Stewart, Emma Ryan Looney and Wyatt Davis; sister, Rebecca Oaks; several nieces and nephews.

Ruby Jean retired after 32 years at Benchmark in Huntsville. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and the “Golden Girls” of Athens.

Pallbearers are Morris Black, Tony Black, Chase Davis, Matt Koch, Eddie Davis and Kyle Looney. Honorary pallbearer is Wayne Black.
