Billy Joe Scott, 62, died Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, AL. He was born January 21, 1957 in Alabama and was a carpenter for more than thirty years.
Services will be Thursday, April 11, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bill Burcham officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Hodges, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife – Tammy Scott, Russellville, AL; six children – Joshua Shae Scott, Belmont, MS., Joshua Paul Clark, Jacob Scott (Sundea), Jared Scott (Samantha), Billie Jo Scott and Jeromy Scott, all of Russellville, AL; nine grandchildren – Alex Scott, Allyssa Leonard, Kayleigh Scott, Kaden Wilson, Sara-Katheryn Scott, Atley Scott, Katie Jo Scott, Aliyah Scott and Anniston Scott; three brothers – Lee Scott (Geneva), Roger Scott (Jane) and Mike Scott; two sisters – Mary Whitehead and Patty Scott; his mother – Lillie Mae Scott, Hamilton, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Medford Scott, a son, Billy Jason Scott, a brother, Stewart Scott, a sister, Lucille Martin and a brother-in-law, Mike Whitehead.
Pallbearers will be Adam Whitehead, Joey Sliman, Casey Poores, Kaden Wilson, Travis Lunctot and Jake Hamilton. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Pilkinton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
