Glendon Joseph Anderson – Obituary

Glendon Joseph Anderson, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday. He was born in Malone, New York to Hugh and Winona Anderson. After graduating from St. Joseph’s School in 1949, he served as a Staff Sargent in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He married Phyllis Degon in 1954 and after living in New Mexico and Tennessee, they settled in Huntsville, AL in 1961, where they raised seven children. Glen ran a small business (BCI, Inc.) before retiring in 1997. He was predeceased by Phyllis Anderson in 1992, and married Noelle Abeyta in 1996. He spent his free time before and after retirement working with the Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and was an active parishioner at both Holy Spirit and Good Shepherd Catholic Churches.

Glen was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, his sister, Mary Brockway, brother, Robert Anderson and his children, Kay, Susan, and Joe, and step-daughter, Stacey Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Noelle Anderson; children, Nene Anderson, Scott Anderson (Kristy), Lynn Miles (Richard), Marsha Asquith (Rob), Michael Anderson; step-daughters, Christi Binns (Martin), Melanie Stoner (John) and Vanessa Colebaugh (James); 11 grandchildren, as well as four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Walton Anderson (Beverly); and his sisters, Theresa Knapp and Cathy Harwood (Jim), all from New York.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 22 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 13550 Chaney Thompson Road. The Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church with a luncheon following.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Glen’s memory.
