MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect on charges both Misdemeanor and Felony Warrants as well as Attempting to Elude:

“On Monday, March 18, 2019 Morgan County Deputy Sheriffs attempted to serve a felony warrant on Arvil DeWayne Charest, 43, of 1215 Charest Rd, Somerville, AL 35670.

When deputies arrived, the subject barricaded himself in a back room and threatened suicide.
After a brief standoff, the subject walked outside with hands up to surrender, when deputies approached to handcuff the subject, he took off on foot, deputies pursued utilizing a non-lethal taser on the subject and placed him under arrest.

Arvil Dewayne Charest was charged with Resisting Arrest, Attempting to Elude along with his outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants. Held with No Bond.”
