Graveside funeral services for Mr. Richard C. Dodds, age 83, are scheduled for 10 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Nebo Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dodds passed away early Thursday at his home in Lexington. He was born January 5, 1936 in Lexington to the late Richard Clarence Dodds, Sr., and Louise Waller Dodds. He was raised in Luray. Mr. Dodds worked as a Civil Engineer, assisting in planning and mapping out pipeline systems, out West many years, and in Tampa and St. Petersburg Florida as an advisor, retiring from Enron. He was a Church of Christ, a member of the Elks Lodge in Henderson, Lexington Moose Lodge, and joined the Masons in February 1969 at Juno Lodge #443. He enjoyed traveling and working around his farm, and spent his retirement years in Florida making many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Sarah McAdams Dodds; his son, Bradley Dodds, and one daughter, Patsy Middleton. Survivors include his two daughters, Penny Grissom and Paula Dunaway of Lexington; two sisters, Martha Dunivan and Loretta Russell; four grandchildren, Chase (Kendra) Grissom , Chandler (Emily) Grissom, Brandy (Andy) Bickings, and Emily Brown; six great grandchildren, Anniston Grissom, Maverick Grissom, Maggie Johnson, Maddox Johnson, Layla Bickings, and Graham Bickings; and a very special first cousin, Elwanda Bryant.
