Marie Osborn McLain – Obituary

The funeral service for Marie Osborn McLain, age 91 of Wadley, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley with Reverend Zenus Windsor and Reverend Alan Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Richie Farrow doing the graveside.

Mrs. McLain passed away peacefully on March 14, 2019. She was born in Clay County, Alabama, to Ellis Osborn and Agnes Kennedy Osborn. She graduated from Mellow Valley High School and later worked for Tyson Chicken. Mrs. McLain was a lifelong resident of Clay County and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Anita Padgett of Alex City; brother, Merrill Osborn of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Mrs. McLain was preceded in death by her parents: Ellis and Agnes Osborn; husband: James McLain; one brother, John M. “Pete” Osborn.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Ladies of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the staff of Lineville Health & Rehabilitation Center will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m.
