Leland Glenn “Eddy” Edwards, Jr,. 71 of Florence, AL passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019. He was a native of Lauderdale County and was a graduate of Coffee High School. He retired from the City of Florence Gas department after 39 years of service. He loved the outdoors including, farming, gardening, fishing and hunting. He also loved Alabama Football and his three dogs, Lilly, Baby and Bo. He was a proud recipient of the Eagle Scout Award from Boy Scouts of America. Only 3-5% of Boy Scouts receive this award.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenview Memorial Park with Rev. Chad Hess officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Helen Edwards.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Eddy Edwards (Brandi); grandchildren, Dillon Edwards; sister, Jan Stone (Ronnie); nieces, Kim Stone Olive (Brent) and Janna Stone Hess (Chad); eight great nieces and nephews; special friends, Chuck Tash, Jerry Bates, and Roger Pope.

Pallbearers will be Blake Edwards, Gary Ray, Jerry Bates, Chuck Tash, Mark Nelson, and Roger Pope. Honorary pallbearers will be Dillon Edwards, Jerry Kennamore.
