MADISON COUNTY-Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner released a statement concerning the arrest of two suspects on charges of Identity Theft and Encoded Data Fraud:

“Sheriff Kevin Turner announced today March 11, 2019 that on March 7, 2019, the Madison County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested Elijah Carlos Escutary, a 25-year-old black male, and Brian Vigniero, a 26-year-old black male for Identity Theft and two counts each of Encoded Data Fraud. The arrest comes after the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received several cases where victim’s debit/credit card numbers had been unlawfully obtained and subsequently cloned in order to make purchases in the Huntsville area. Criminal investigators worked with local financial institutions and area businesses to apprehend the suspects while they were actively committing the offenses. This was successful and both suspects were taken into custody by investigators without incident. Both Escutary and

Brian Vigniero

Vigniero are residents of the Miami, Florida area and after being transported to the Criminal Investigation Division, they were arrested for Identity Theft and Encoded Data Fraud. Both suspects were booked into the Madison County Jail on $60,000 cash bonds each in addition to also being arrested for possession of marijuana in the second degree with a bond of $500 each. Both suspects also have multiple felony warrants in other states for similar financial related crimes. No other details are being released at this time.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens that no financial institution will contact you and request that you give them your debit/credit card personal identification number and/or three-digit security code on the back of the card.

Escutary’s and Vigniero’s arrests were based on probable cause and they are to be presumed innocent until deemed otherwise by the judicial system.”
