Mrs. Martha Ellis Brock, age 93, of Arab, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Brock was born on November 8, 1925 in DeKalb County to Samuel Devine & Vivian Margery Brock Ellis. She was married to the late Warner Harden Brock who passed on October 14, 2003. She enjoyed attending her Bible study classes, reading, quilting, embroidering and sewing, a skill that had been passed down from generation to generation of women in her family. Often, she listened to gospel music and sermons, especially those of her children. Mrs. Brock loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she was so proud of each of them.
She was a faithful member of Arab First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brock is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Diane Brock Harbin & Danny; sons & daughter-in-law, Glenn Brock & Carol, Dr. Timothy Warner Brock, Mark DeWayne Brock; grandchildren, Cassandra Harbin Terry, Danielle Harbin Johnson & Rusty, April Brock Scott & Dustin, Jennifer Brock Broadus & Jason; great grandchildren, Samuel Patrick Maze, David Andrew Maze, Hollis Reid Scott, Marek Joel Scott. Preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Devine Ellis & Vivian Margery Brock Ellis; husband, Warner Harden Brock; brothers, Stanford Ellis, Randall Ellis; sister, Catherine Harris.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Arab First Baptist Church with Dr. Clint Landry & Rev. Glenn Brock, officiating. Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. A lie-in-state will be held at the church one hour prior to service.
Pallbearers will include the Deacons of Arab First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Four Friends International; in care of Arab First Baptist Church, 502 N. Main Street, Arab, Al. 35016.
