James “Matt” Mims – Obituary

James “Matt” Mims, 60, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his residence. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he had lived in the area for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Cowboy Church of Colbert County, and a full patch member of the “Motorcycle Family Motor Cycle Club.”

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Truman Sutton. Burial will be in East Franklin Cemetery, Phil Campbell.

Mr. Mims is survived by his children, Robbie Daniels and wife, Joanie and son, Gus Mims; sister, Nancy Mims Patterson (Ken) and brother, David Mims (Sherry); seven grandchildren; nephew, Chris Galloway and nieces, Christy Bragwell and Kelli Elliott; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Ruth Potter Mims.

While flowers are accepted, donations also may be made to either Wounded Warriors or the American Cancer Society.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
