Linda Wilson – Obituary

Linda Wilson was born and raised in Wright Community; confessing Christ and playing piano at Wright United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Waterloo High School and did undergraduate work at the University of North Alabama in bookkeeping and accounting.

She married C. T. Wilson, Jr. in 1968 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.

She worked as the office manager and bookkeeper for various tool and die shops in the Shoals area. She also worked for bookkeeping and accounting firms during peak tax season.

Since 1976, she had been a member of Florence First United Methodist Church. From 1984 to 1992 she served there as the full-time, unpaid children’s minister. Hundreds of kids came to know Jesus Christ because of her ministry.

She is survived by her husband, C. T. Wilson, Jr.; their son, the Rev. Dr. Travis N. Wilson (Becca), and her two granddaughters, Alexandra and Lucy Wilson.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park with her beloved cousin, Rev. Lloyd Gibbs, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Capital Projects Fund at Madison United Methodist Church (127 Church Street, Madison, AL 35758).
