Grand Jury indicts Florence man for Attempted Murder

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the Grand Jury indictment of a suspect being charged with Attempted Murder:

“On Friday, March 1stLorenzo Fortenberry, 34 was arrest on a Grand Jury indictment for Attempted Murder. He is currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $50,000.00 bond.

This indictment comes from an incident that took place on 12/6/2018 at approximately 5 pm on North Seminary St in Florence. Mr. Fortenberry began arguing with another subject that leads to them exchanging punches. Mr. Fortenberry knocked the victim to the ground and started kicking him until he was unconscious. After the assault, Mr. Fortenberry left the scene before officers arrived. The victim was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. The victim was in ICU for several weeks due to his injuries. The Victim has been released from Huntsville Hosptial.”
