Obituary of Marvin Earl Taylor Marvin Earl Taylor, 86, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Taylor will be on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 2:30 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Baggett officiating. His visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm Monday prior to the funeral service. Mr. Taylor was born on April 28, 1932 in Huntsville, AL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, and then went on to graduate from Athens State College. He later retired from Monte Sano as a chemist. Mr. Taylor was a member of and a Sunday School Teacher at Central Baptist Church, and a current member of Southside Baptist Church. He was very active and influential in his community. He was a charter member of Burningtree Country Club and a member of the Decatur Lions Club. Mr. Taylor was one of the first Little League football coaches in his community and a member of the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame. He was the President of the Decatur Park and Recreation Board. He was also the founder of the Austin High Booster Club. Mr. Taylor was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Brett Morris; brothers, Bernard, Winfred, and Douglas Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Juyne Taylor; daughters, Cindy Morris (Larry) and Kathy Betty; grandson, Wesley Morris, and brother, Ray Taylor (Donna). Those serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Morris, Jeff Slayton, Billy Biles, Ray Taylor, Ralph Hurst, Leighton Lynch, Pete Thompson, and Lamar Brannon.
