Elizabeth "Libba" CookElizabeth “Libba” Gantt Cook of Columbia passed away at the age of 60 on February 28, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Libba was born on June 25, 1958 to the late Maxwell and Nell Boddie Gantt. She received a Masters Degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was an undergraduate from Auburn University. She was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia, Tennessee for many years and a member of Alpha Chi Omega and the American Dietetic Association. Libba was known as a big cut up—she loved to laugh. No matter how hard you might try you could not embarrass her. She was a huge fan of all sports especially Auburn and anybody playing against Alabama. But most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Cook; daughter Sarah Cook of Brooklyn, New York; son William Cook of Nashville, Tennessee and brother; Max (Patricia) Gantt of Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the same day.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in honor of Elizabeth to Breast Cancer Research Foundation at 28 W 44th St Ste. 609 New York, NY 10036 or BCRF.org.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their great care of Libba during this difficult time.
