Elvis Roy Jones, age 90, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on February 27, 2019. Visitation will be today, March 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Danny Pettus officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery.
Elvis was a retired mechanic. In the early 1960’s he opened Jones Garage in Kingtown. He worked for various contractors at several TVA locations. He loved camping and was a bluegrass enthusiast, playing the bass guitar. He could fix anything and loved helping his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabeth Yarbrough Jones; first wife, Yvonne Bailey Jones; sister, Eunice Smith; and brothers, Villard and Arvel Jones.
Survivors include his children, Ricky Von Jones (Laura Sue), Kathy Brazelton (Joe) and Janet Kirk; sister, Jean Harrison (Bob); sister-in-law, Dorothy Bailey; grandchildren, Lauren Brewer (Jonathan), Taylor Von Jones (Brittany), Amy Little (Matthew), Anna Beth Rose (Matthew) and William Kirk; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Brian Richards and nurse practitioner, Matt King; Dr. Therese Lango and nurse practitioner, Amanda McCann; Dr. Peter Pons and his staff; the staffs of ECM, NAMC and Kindred Home Health; and the staff of Florence Nursing and Rehab, especially Peggy and Dianne.
