Florence-Apple Annie Day is an annual fundraiser held on the first Friday in November.The Junior League of The Shoals will host the traditional Apple Annie Day fundraiser on Friday, November 2, 2012 across Colbert and Lauderdale Counties. This will mark the 71st year anniversary of the annual charity performance of red stocking clad ladies selling apples to support many local nonprofit organizations.
JLS is an organization of women committed to developing and enhancing the potential of women, promoting dedication, and improving our
community through voluntarism and charitable actions. Over the past 70 years, the association has dedicated over 300,000 hours to emerging the success of local charities and educational programs. In 2011 over $20,000 was raised from Apple Annie Day to fund several local organizations.
Members of the Junior League of The Shoals are accomplished collaborators who identify community needs and develop effective and responsive programs to serve those needs.
