Florence Man Arrested Charged With String Of Area Burglaries

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect on Friday, February 15.  The suspect was arrested on charges of Burglary 3rd and six counts of Theft of Property including four counts of TOP in the 1st Degree:

“On February 15, 2019, the Florence Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1700blk of Sherrod Ave.  The resident John Dae McGee was present at the time.  

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, an arrest warrant for McGee had been secured for his involvement during a rash of burglaries dating back to October 2018.  During the execution of this warrant evidence linking McGee to at least seven different burglaries to include property stolen from the same burglaries was located. 

McGee was charged with seven counts of Burglary 3rd, four counts of TOP 4th, and one count each of TOP 3rd and TOP 2nd

McGee was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center and has since been released on a $19,500 bond.”
