Tommy Bonds – Obituary

Tommy Bonds, 62, of Stuttgart, Germany, passed away February 1, 2019. A native of Russellville and a graduate of Russellville High School, he is remembered for his outstanding athletic ability, particularly in basketball. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by the US Government at the time of his death.
Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the high school gymnasium (where he played basketball as a high school student) from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Services will begin at 3:00 P.M. in the gym with burial to follow in Luketown Cemetery, Russellville. Peaches Winston will provide music at the piano, and Ella West will be soloist.
Pallbearers include Johnny Smith, Randy Hurley, Barry Robinson, Alford Phillips, Carver Phillips, Chris Burcham, Harlan “Peaches” Winston, and Alan “Ottie” Steien. Honorary bearers are William Bonds, Hillard Carter, R.J. Bonds, Jr., James Henry Bonds, Uwe Schmidt, Peter Schmidt, and Al Elliott.
Tommy is survived by his spouse, Christina Bonds; children, Lisa Jean Bonda and Kia Christian; siblings, Minnie Bean (Roy), Harriett Carter (Hillard), William Bonds (Almetta), Milldred Hamm (Joe), R.J. Bonds, Jr. (Brunella), James Henry Bonds (Tracy), Lucy Bonds, Margette Sanders (Willie), and Belinda Hamm; and close friends in Russellville, Yvonne Foster and Mickey Mansell and their families.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. Bonds, Sr. and Jeanie Williams Bonds and a brother, Charlie Richard Bonds.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Military Kids in Tommy’s memory.
