James Oliver Grisham – Obituary

The funeral service for James Oliver Grisham, 79, of Athens, is 2 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Clint Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael Dykes, Corey Hill, Will Grisham, Terry Grisham, Justin Williams and Danny Curnutt. Honorary pallbearers are Randall Bridges, Alan Boyd, Josh Hopper and Randall Norton.
Mr. Grisham died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Lauderdale County. He was a member of First Christian Church in Athens and was retired from Spencer Oil Company. He last worked at Champion Chevrolet.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Wray Smith Grisham of Athens; daughter, Debbie Dykes; sons, James David Grisham of Rogersville and Bill (Tina) Grisham of Athens; grandchildren, Michael Dykes, Brittany Story, Brooklynn Williams, Brealy Davis, Christina Brown, Corey Hill, Will Grisham and Annabell Grisham; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Jenny Grisham; sisters, Aline and Louise; brothers, Eugene, Jerry and Johnnie; and son-in-law, Mike Dykes.
