Funeral service for M.C. “Sonny” Simmons, 80, will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Eaton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Simmons died on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Wednesday, February 1, 1939, in Lawrence County to Enos Arron Simmons and Laura Elvira McCreless Simmons. He was employed by Cerro Wire in the Maintenance Department prior to his retirement. Preceding him in death were his wife: Helen Simmons, his parents, and ten brothers and sisters.
