Mr. Chestley Watson Rowley, age 91, of Union Grove, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Marshall Medical Centre North.
Mr. Rowley was born on December 27, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to Charles Chestley Rowley & Isabelle Noaker Rowley. Chestley was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served in WWII. He and Mrs. Dewilla “Dee” have been married for 53 years, they are formerly of Akron, Ohio but have been residing in the Union Grove area for the last 28 years. Mr. Chestley owned and operated Lake Drive Flower Shop in the early 40’s and still continued to create floral arrangements until his passing. He later retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company where he worked as an Engineer. Many considered Chestley a master letter writer, since 2004 he had written over 5000+ letter of encouragement to send to others. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #6226.
Mr. Rowley was a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Rowley is survived by his wife; Dewilla “Dee” Rowley; daughter & son-in-law, Lynne Bridges & Tom; sons & daughters-in-law, Mark Rowley & Donna, Keith Rowley, Jeffrey Rowley & Gretchen, Troy Rowley & Alison; brother & sister-in-law, William Rowley & Karen; sister, Bonnie Littleton; grandchildren, Stacey, Carrie, Matthew, Greg, Evan, Aaron, Austin, Grant, Reese, AnnaMarie, Megan, Matthew, Justin, Joshua & Jarrod; 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents. Chestley & Isabelle Rowley; sister, Carol Sue Bussey; brother-in-law, Gordon Littleton.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Arab First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve West & Pastor Clarence Hager, officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. –11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Arab First United Methodist Church.
