Dan L. Sullivan – Obituary

It is with regret we announce the passing of CW5 (Ret.) Dan L. Sullivan, age 74, of Fayetteville, TN. Dan was born on May 20, 1944 in Cordele, GA to the late William Lee Sullivan and Ethel Ward Rowland. He served in the United States Army for 30 years. He served during the Vietnam War, was a transport pilot for Special Operations, and was an instructor for both helicopters and fixed wing aircrafts. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and Coldwater Methodist Church. His family and his animals held a special place in his heart. Dan passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2019 after a battle with cancer.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Donna Stickland Sullivan; daughter, Laurena Sullivan Miller and husband Bruce of Fayetteville, TN; son, Jefferson McKelvey and wife Cheryl of Lewisburg, TN; grandchild, Tessa Miller of Fayetteville, TN; sister, Judene Haskins and husband Clifton of Perry, GA; and brother, Marion Sullivan and wife Barbara of Perry, GA.

Visitation with the family will be held at 11 AM until 1 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home. A life celebration will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday. Burial will follow on the family farm at Gunter Hollow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fayetteville – Lincoln County Humane Society at 1718 Pulaski Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Sullivan.
