Faron Kae Hillis – Obituary

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mrs. Faron Kae Hillis, age 55, of Lincoln County, TN. Mrs. Hillis was born on October 19, 1963 in Hinesville, GA to Richard Guy Daugherty and Sunny Rae Powell Baker. Faron worked as a hair stylist at different salons over the past 30 years, owning Faron’s Oasis and more recently she was the owner of Shear Frenzy Salon. She earned her Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Athens State University. Faron had many accomplishments in her life but she was most proud of her children and grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Grammy”. She loved riding Harleys, spending time with her husband, vacationing at the beach with family and friends, drinking coffee, and taking her grandchildren on various adventures. She spent her short time on this Earth laughing with her many friends and family and loving on all of her grandchildren. Faron passed away on January 25, 2019 at her residence after a short illness.

Faron is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Hillis; parents, Richard Guy (Donna) Daugherty and Sunny Rae Powell (Darwin) Baker; children, Racheal (Dewayne) Smith of Albertville, AL, Jessica (Timothy) Barrett of Fayetteville, TN, Jacob Campbell of Fayetteville, TN and Marcie (James) Tait of Fayetteville, TN; step-children, Amber (Andy) Joseph of Fayetteville, TN, Dalton Hillis of Fayetteville, TN and Megan Hillis (fiance BJ Thompson) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Austin Conner, Devonshea Conner, Landon Conner, DeMya Conner, Christopher Smith, Destiny Smith, Aidan Campbell, Kade Roland, Chase Barrett, Shiloh Barrett, Maverick Barrett, Timothy Joseph, and Piper Tait; siblings, Archie Ray (Mark) Knott, II, Krista Wilson of Evansville, IN, Troy Daugherty of Nashville, TN, Kimberly (Justin) Oldendorf of Evansville, IN, and Jeff Baker; mother-in-law, Nancy Hillis; brother-in-law, Kenny Hillis; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Miki Campbell and Darlene Moyers; and a host of other friends and family. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Donnie Ray, and beloved dog, Sophie.

A celebration of life for Faron will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Hope Assembly Church, 28 Deer Trace Rd, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Weather permitting, everyone with a motorcycle is encouraged to ride theirs to the celebration and dress the part.
