D.1.25.19 Faye Johnson.jpgA Celebration of Life for Elsie “Faye” Motes Johnson, 89, of Somerville will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at noon at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home with JD Thorne officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

Faye Johnson passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born on September 21, 1929 in Morgan County to Andrew Jackson Motes and Ruth Irene Motes. Faye was a retired cosmetologist, homemaker, but more importantly a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 68 years, John Wesley “Buck” Johnson; her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Vaughn, Carolyn Forsythe (Donnie), Nancey Tolbert and Lynn Huck (Jerry); eight grandchildren, Tina Walter (Eric), Kenny Hogan (Suzanna), Chris Tolbert (Veronica), Michael Vaughn, Blake Pittman (Charity), Dimitry Pittman, Liana Young (Zach) and Zachary Pittman; 12 great-grandchildren, Halei, Tiffani, Jonathan, Destinee, Karlie, Hannah, Kennadi, Kaitlyn, Kirstin, Reagan, Wesley and Addie-Beth; four great-great-grandchildren as well as one brother, John Motes and two sisters, Betty Little and Linda Stewart.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
