Billy GibsonBilly Ray Gibson, 75, of Athens passed away Thursday, January 17th, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He attended Anderson School, was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and was retired from GM/Delphi.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 19th from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Mike Kelley and Jerry Marlow officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Hostetler, Cody Gibson, Matthew Gibson, Timmy Gibson, Robert Kelley and Jeff McClusky; honorary, Shannon Gibson, Rocio Hostetler and Scotty Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Evie Gibson; siblings, Mason Gibson, Gilbert Deloni Gibson, Dorothy Madry, Horace Gibson, infant brother & sister. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Gibson; children, Beverly (John) Hostetler and Daniel (Lori) Gibson; grandchildren, Matthew Gibson, Cody Gibson, Nathan Hostetler and Rocio Hostetler; special niece, Larine Clark and her children, Alissa, Brandon and Adam Cooper; siblings, Joyce Alred, Reba Haggermaker, David Gibson, Mary Howard, Linda Meeks and Charles Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Billy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
