Sarah Alice Haskins ReddingSarah Alice Haskins Redding, 86, longtime resident of Moore Lane near Culleoka, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born September 10, 1932 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late George Johnson Haskins and the late Savannah Jane Rainey Haskins. She was a 1951 graduate of Culleoka High School and her career in bookkeeping and accounting at Middle Tennessee Bank spanned over forty-two years. She enjoyed reading and cross stitching; and loved watching the birds, butterflies, deer, and turkey in her yard. Mrs. Redding had visited all the states except Alaska and Hawaii, made several trips to Canada, toured Mexico, and traveled with the Highland Seniors to many interesting locations. She had been a member of Highland Church of Christ since 1951.

Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of sixty-seven years whom she married November 6, 1951, Gary Wilkes Redding of Culleoka; son, Gary Michael “Mike” Redding of Culleoka; and special nieces, Patricia “Trish” Gick, Deborah Varner, Kathy Smith.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Christine Haskins Chapman; daughter-in-law, Martha Redding; and nephews, Ronald “Ronnie” Chapman and Terry Wayne Chapman.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Redding, Scott Redding, Jeremy Chapman, Tommy Smith, Clint Kelley, and Tristan Moore.
