Dale Huston Brand, age 79, of Huntsville, AL passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at his home with his family at his side. Mr. Brand was born in Sylacaga, AL to Robert Otis and Cora Lee Fowler Brand. He worked at SCI as a computer technician and retired in 2004. Mr. Brand was with the Mission Control Center and helped build for the Apollo Space Program. Mr. Brand was a very active member of Hillwood Baptist Church and a member of the YTT Senior Choir.
Mr. Brand was preceded in death by his parents Robert Otis Brand and Cora Lee Fowler Brand.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rebecca Ann Blankenship Brand; daughters Laura D. Hart (John) and Cheryl L. Saunders (Mark); grandchildren Jason M. Gray, Amanda M. Foshee, Cassandra E. Atherton, Madalyn A. Atherton, Emma K. Saunders and John A. Hart and great-grandchild Harris H. Foshee
Pallbearers will be Jason Gray, Kevin Blank, Mark Saunders, John Hart, Paul Andrzejewski and Kyle Saunders.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Hillwood Baptist Church from 1 to 2 pm. His funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Dr. Charles Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Cove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HIllwood Baptist Church in his memory. These donations will go toward upgrading their sound system
