Travis McCreless, born April 8, 1928 in Haleyville to Frank and Susie Defoor McCreless. He passed away January 10, 2019 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Travis grew up in Haleyville and attended Defoor and Pebble Schools. At the age of 23, he entered the US Air Force, spending most of his time in Alaska. He returned home from military and began his 32 year career as a machinist at Joslyn Manufacturing in Birmingham.
He was a member of Needmore Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Edgar McCreless, Daton McCreless, Hollis McCreless, Kenneth McCreless, Dorothy Waldrop, Nell Milton.
He is survived by wife, Emily Dye McCreless; daughters, Susan(Jeff)Crane and their children Arden and Lucas; Sarah((Patrick)Starnes and their children Collin, Ava and Connor.
Visitation is Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville. Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Marvin Taylor officiating. Burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
