Johnny “Shine” Heath – Obituary

The funeral service for Johnny “Shine” Heath, age 57 of Cragford, will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Harold McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Heath passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he was an owner of his own trucking business. Mr. Heath liked to loafer around, trade and hang out at the store. He loved being around his grandchildren.

Mr. Heath is survived by his wife of 31 years, Anita W. Heath of Mellow Valley; three daughters: Amber Griffin (David) of Lineville, Kara Heath (Fiancee Brandon Perry) of Ashland, and Timberly Heath of Cragford; 2 sisters: Barbara Jackson (Mark) and Sue Smith (Doyle), both of Ashland; one sister-in-law, Donna Heath of Mellow Valley; two brothers: Jimmy Heath (Mary) of Mellow Valley and Brinton Heath of (Ashland), and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Mary Lee Brown Heath, four brothers, Sherwood “Bug” Heath, Bryon “Doodle” Heath, James C. “Roadmap” Heath, and Horace Lee Heath, and one nephew, Jeffery “Waldo” Heath.

Mr. Heath’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m.
