Image result for spring break to washington dc WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) today released the following statement to remind those planning trips to Washington that early planning is essential to seeing all of the nation’s sites.

“Schools in Alabama will be taking their spring breaks before we know it.   Every year we are glad to welcome people from the 4th District to Washington during the break.   However, we also run into situations each year where people don’t get to see everything they had hoped for.”

“In particular, if you want to tour the White House as part of your trip, it is extremely important that you request that tour through our office as soon as possible.  The Secret Service requires all White House tour requests to be submitted at least 21 days in advance, no exceptions.  But because requests are so numerous, those who wait that late to submit a request, seldom get tickets.   We recommend you submit a request two months in advance of your trip.”

“You may submit requests for White House tours, Capitol Building tours and many others through our office website:   aderholt.house.gov    We hope to see you in Washington during spring break and this summer.”

Note: While the current government shutdown has many tourist attractions in Washington closed, Congressman Aderholt certainly anticipates this will be resolved before the spring break season. If you are coming to Washington in the next few weeks and have any questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at (202) 225-4876.
