William Harold Pharr – Obituary

William Harold Pharr was born on October 12, 1947, the son of Jewel Pharr and the late James Turner “Buddy” Pharr. On July 20, 1973 he married Linda Petree Pharr. Harold passed away December 26, 2018 at the age of 71 years old.

Harold Pharr was the owner of Harold’s Gas and Grocery serving the people in Hodges, Alabama for 40 years. He enjoyed watching Alabama football and antique cars. He loved his grandchildren and riding them around the yard on the golf cart to pick fruit from the trees.

A special thank you to his favorite sisters-in-law, Heather Clingan, Sheila Williams and Charlotte Raper and also brother-in-law, Wade Petree for all the help offered and especially the last two years.

Harold is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Pharr. His children, Carlos Pharr and wife, Wendy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sissy Scott and husband, Michael of Belgreen, Samantha Gann and husband, Jason of Hodges, Lance Pharr and wife, Ashley of Hodges; grandchildren, Raegan Pharr, Adalynn Pharr, Owen Pharr, Isaac Gann, Ali Clark and husband, Cody, Katelynn Landers and husband, Chase, Whitney Jacobs and husband, Derek, Angelo Pharr, Sherelle Wilson and husband, Ryan, Kauhdeeme Balentine and Mary Clingan; great-grandchildren, Finleigh Beth Clark, Sean Michael Pharr, Ayden Jacobs, Issac Wilson and Isaiah Wilson; mother, Jewel Pharr; siblings, Glenda Anglin and husband, Jerry, Gail Gunnin, JT Pharr and wife, Shirley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Turner “Buddy” Pharr; mother-in-law, Mary Ava Dean Petree; father-in-law, Bus Petree; brother-in-law, Donnie Guinn and grandparents, Killus and Linie Mae Jackson and Will and Lura Pharr.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. with burial in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
