Roger Day Wisecarver – Obituary

Roger Day Wisecarver, 83, of Huntsville, Alabama died January 5, 2019. Mr. Wisecarver was born in Greene County, Tennessee December 24, 1935 to Naomi Ruth Day Wisecarver and Swan Samuel Wisecarver. He graduated from White Pine High School in 1954. Roger attended Hiawassee College, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He also attended Carson-Newman College and the University of Tennessee.
Roger retired from Chrysler after 39 faithful years of service as a plant engineer. He was an avid bass fisherman, loved the outdoors and participated in many national bass tournaments. He was a member of several bass clubs and organizations. He officiated high school and college basketball for 29 years.
He was a member of University Baptist Church in Huntsville. Roger was a charter member of the Order of the DeMolays in Morristown, Tennessee. He was a Mason and Scottish Rite for over 60 years.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Ruth Day Wisecarver and father, Swan Samuel Wisecarver.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Grace Wisecarver; three daughters, Sherrie Lynn Abrams, Teresa Suzanne Hendrix and husband, Jeff Hendrix of Gurley, and Victoria Dawn McAnulty and husband, Adam McAnulty Asheville, North Carolina; and five grandchildren, Courtney Nichole Marine, Kaitlyn Grace McAnulty, Ian Jacob Hendrix, Rachael Lynn Abrams and Brendan Parker McAnulty.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends at Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm. Interment will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Hamblen Memory Gardens in Morristown, Tennessee.
