Donald Ray Crabb, Sr – Obituary

 Donald Ray Crabb, Sr, 89, of Iuka, MS, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Donald was a beloved husband, father and friend. He was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as deacon and song leader for many years. Along with his family and church, Donald enjoyed his work and sharing those experiences through his stories. He had many professions throughout his life including farmer, store owner, machine operator for Hiawassee Land Company, and even after retirement tending lawns at Eastport Beach. The time he enjoyed most was spent on his small farm operating his tractor and lawnmower. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Opal Nunley Crabb of Iuka; two sons, Donald Crabb, Jr. of Iuka, and Quincy Crabb (Debra) of Franklin, IN; one daughter, Annette Russell (Raines) of Tishomingo; two sisters, Dorothy Dailey of Burnsville, and Doris Kennedy of Torrence, CA; nine grandchildren, Dustin Crabb, Sonya Ware, Jessica Vaughn, Quintin Crabb, Brian Davis, Jonathon Davis, Bradley Davis, La Dana Crowell, and Stacy Mills; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Van Crabb; his parents, Walter Lee and Ruth Sheppard Crabb; and two brothers, Herman and Eugene Crabb. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers include Philip South, Mikey Crabb, Danny Dexter, Jonathan Nunley, Joey Holt, and Roger Durham. Honorary pallbearers include Lane Nunley and Dr. Brad Nunley. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka.
