 Mrs Glenda  Sue Black PonderMrs. Glenda Sue Black Ponder, 77, of Arab, passed away Friday January 4, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Ponder was born October 31, 1941 in Marshall County to William Hugh Black and Ala Ray Carter Black. She taught school for 25 years in the Marshall County School System. She and her twin sister Linda, spent as much time together as possible, they enjoyed junking, traveling to Tunica and going out to eat.
She was a member of Arab First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ponder is survived by her husband of 58 years: E. Wayne Ponder; her son Christopher Wayne Ponder; her twin sister: Linda Lou Black Glenn; her brother: John Hugh Black; her nieces: Susan LeSueur and Courtney LeSueur; grandchildren: Bryant and Nichols Ponder and Lauren Little Graham and her great grandchildren: Camyle, Campbell, Charlotte and Cecily. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Lehmon Black and Verbon Black.
Memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday January 6, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Shirley, officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing. Eulogies will be given by: Martha Handschumacher, Lauren Graham, Jane Seltzen, Hugh Black and Brad King.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday January 6, 2019 prior to the service.
