Virgle Hugh-B Baker Virgle Hugh-B Baker, age 77, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, January 01, 2019 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Virgle was a logger and farmer all of his life. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed carrying his kids and grandchildren with him. He was a Christian man who loved Jesus and his family. He was a good husband, daddy, and granddaddy, and loved to help anyone who needed help. He loved Christmas and enjoyed his last Christmas spending time with all of his family.

The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 03, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 04, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. William Borden and Bro. Ed Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Wade Baker; parents, James Alvin Baker and Florena Motes Baker; his sisters, Ethel, Alma, Ruby, Janey, Marie; brothers, Audie, Olen, Bobby; and baby Baker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Susie ArtieVee Baker; sons, Daran Baker (LaGeita Steward), Thomas Baker (wife, Tina); grandchildren, Chasity LeeAnn Baker, Auston Baker, Darrel Baker, Sharon Baker Bonds, Breonna Baker Hill, Cody Wayne Cotham, Brett Lee Cotham; several great-grandchildren; sister, Leila Moore; and a host of nieces & nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the friends and family who has helped to take care of Virgle during the last few months.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
