Donald Ray Montgomery, 81, of Florence, passed away December 31, 2018. He was a member of Saint John United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the service to follow at 3 p.m. Reverends Greg Burnett and Michael Samuels will be officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Montgomery and Mary Irene Stricklin Montgomery Berry.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Lou Shelby Montgomery of Florence; daughters, Gaye Montgomery Choat (Steve) and June Montgomery of Florence; grandchildren, Lindsay Choat Ronilo (Eddie), and Jared Choat (Heather) of Birmingham; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Ronilo and Beckham Choat.
Pallbearers will be Howard “Buddy” Broadfoot, Tony Eckl, Danny Griffith, Jimmy Ray Franks, James M. Shelby, Jr. and Jack Sullivan
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Underwood-Petersville Volunteer Fire Department.
The family would like to thank Dr. Danny McFall and the associates and staff of Internal Medicine and the staff of the North Alabama Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint John United Methodist Church or Underwood-Petersville Volunteer Fire Department.
