Daniel Lewis Hall – Obituary

Daniel Lewis Hall, 92, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at Generations of Red Bay. He was born and raised in Itawamba County, Ms. and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God. He was a former member of the Red Bay City Council and former fire chief for the Red Bay Volunteer Fire Department. He married Hazel Erlene Russell on July 3, 1940 and they were still together in Generations of Red Bay. Dan was well-known in the community as a car dealer and at the age of 90, he was a familiar figure in Red Bay at his produce market. He enjoyed music and his guitar and was a member of the first FFA String Band at RBHS in 1938. The tradition has continued in his family with a granddaughter who was a FFA String Band member and now a great-granddaughter who is a current FFA String Band member.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. David Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery, Red Bay, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are his wife of 72 years, Hazel Hall, Red Bay, Al.; one daughter – Jane Williams (John), Red Bay, Al.; daughter-in-law – Brenda Hall, Red Bay, Al.; one sister – Jessie Barker, Ider, Al.; four grandchildren – Paul Williams (Jessica), Jennifer Pierce (Richard), Danielle McDonald (Mac) and Rachael Wilson (Matt) and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Lucinda Hall, a son, Jimmy Hall, one brother and six sisters.

Pallbearers will be Harold Entrekin, J.C.Weeks, Joe Pat Williams, Billy Bolton, Grant Jefferies and Richard Pierce.

Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al.
