Albert Lewis Hobbs, Sr. was born December 12, 1949 to the union of Sam and Nina Hobbs. He departed this life Friday December 28, 2018. Albert was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and retired with 24 years in the United States National Guard. He worked as a plumber in the mobile home industry for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Ricks Hobbs; son Albert Lewis Hobbs, Jr.; parents, Sam and Nina Hobbs; sisters, Lucille Murphy, Edna White, Martha Hobbs and Sarah McCall; brothers, Owen Hobbs, Jimmy Smith, Sam Hobbs, Jr., Willie Hobbs and Bobby Hobbs.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Valerie Brown (Timmy), Belinda Ricks and Melanie Mitchell (Deric); ten grandchildren, Amanda Ricks, Jessica Ricks, Shamary Brown, LaDarius Brown, Quinton Mitchell, Demetrick Hobbs, Jacob Feltman, Tanaeja Brown, Albert Cayn Hobbs and Quincee Mitchell;four great grandchildren, Kanesha, Kayla, Kennedy White and Terryana Garrett; four great great grandchildren, Briley and Bailey Weakley, Kylan and Kinsgley Ricks; three sisters, Gloria Brown (Hurbert), Bridget Flores (Daniel) and Marie Nelson; one brother, William Hobbs; three sister-in-laws, Martha Lee Graham, Johnnye Pearl Hobbs and Sharon Hill; two brother-in-laws, Wilbert McCall, Leamon Murphy; a devoted nephew Maury White; special friend, Pam Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday January 5, 2019 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m., with his funeral at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Benny Knight and Bro. Ricky White officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
