Earl Monroe Hawkins – Obituary

Earl Monroe Hawkins, age 67, of Onancock, Virginia (formerly of Russellville), passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018.

Mr. Hawkins proudly served his nation in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a police officer in Russellville, AL and also in Texas and also served as Police Chief for several years in Littleville, AL. He was a diehard Alabama fan, having played football under Bear Bryant, Roll Tide. He was an amazing father and grandfather, being a father figure to a lot of people, and always having his door open to anyone who needed him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Hyde Cemetery in Littleville with military honors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Flur Monroe Hawkins & Lydia Marie Martin Hawkins; and one sister, Joyce Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Earl Joshua Hawkins, Alexandra Danielle Hawkins Wilson (Matt), Christopher Jacob Hawkins (Heather); grandchildren, Lilly Wilson, Ryleigh Wilson, Hayden Nicole McGee, Jayce Alexander Hawkins; brothers, William Hawkins (Marla), Charlie Hawkins; nephews, William Hawkins, Champ Hawkins, and Caleb Hawkins.

The pallbearers are Earl Joshua Hawkins, Jacob Hawkins, William Hawkins, Champ Hawkins, Christopher Hawkins, and Matthew Wilson.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
