Joey Douglas McElyea, age 43 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his residence. Mr. McElyea was born September 17, 1975 in Limestone County to Marshall McElyea and Vickie Buchanan Wallace.
Memorial Services for Mr. McElyea are Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Blackburn Road Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with James Turner officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Penny McElyea; step-daughter, Ashlee King (William Putman); granddaughter, Maddie Grace Putman; brother, Wayne McElyea (Angie); step-dad, Mike Wallace; step-sister, Dana Siniard; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Marshall McElyea and Vickie Wallace.
