Two Suspects Arrested In The May 2, 2018 Murder Of Jose Elliott D’Leon

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a press release on the arrest of two suspects in the murder of Jose Elliott D’Leon on May 2, 2018:

UPDATE:  Homicide Investigation 05/02/2018

“On 5/2/2018 Florence Police Patrol Division responded to 754 N Wood Ave on a Medical Assist. Once they arrived, they located a male that was deceased. The male has been identified as Jose Elliott D’Leon. An autopsy of Mr. D’Leon was conducted which resulted in a determination that Mr. D’Leon was the victim of a Homicide.

 

Since that time, Detectives with the Florence Police have worked diligently gathering information in this case. Based on the evidence gathered, an arrest warrant was issued for Randy (Christian) Sanchez. 

 

On 12/21/2018 Florence Police Special Operations officers placed Randy (Christian) Sanchez under arrest for the Murder of Jose D’Leon. Mr. D’Leon and Mr. Sanchez were friends at the time of the murder.

Vincent C Fuqua

 

On 12/22/2018 Russellville Police Department located and placed Vincent Fuqua under arrest on a Warrant, from Florence PD, for the Murder of Jose D’Leon. Mr. Fuqua did not know Mr. D’Leon but was friends with Mr. Sanchez.

 

Countless hours have gone into working this case by our detectives led by Kevin Jackson and Michael Price. Detectives are still gathering information related to this case which will be presented to the court during prosecution.

 

The Florence Police Department would like to thank the Alabama State Bureau of Investigations, specifically Agent Alex Guynn for their assistance in this case. We would also like to thank the Lauderdale County District Attorney’s office and all the citizens that were able to provide information.  

 

Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Fuqua are being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Bond is set at $50,000.00.”
